The Empty Belly Blues Band is a true brotherhood of blues and soul lovers, drawn together from across the globe and united by a shared passion for the music that moves the soul. As proud members of the Philadelphia Blues Society, we’re dedicated to preserving and celebrating the deep roots of American blues.
Fronted by veteran blues belter Alabama Sam, our ensemble of seasoned musicians delivers a powerful and authentic performance that channels the raw energy and emotional depth of the blues. As a Philly blues band serving the Philadelphia area, our repertoire features a dynamic mix of original songs, timeless blues standards—from legends like B.B. King and Muddy Waters—and classic soul staples from the likes of Tyrone Davis, The Temptations, and Wilson Pickett.

What type of music do you play?
We perform a mix of original music and crowd-favorite covers in the genres of blues, soul, and classic R&B. Our setlist can be tailored for weddings, private parties, corporate events, festivals, bars, and clubs.
Where are you based?
We are based in Philadelphia, PA, but we are available for travel depending on the event location and schedule.
How far are you willing to travel?
We regularly travel within PA, NY, NJ, and DE. Travel fees may apply for events outside our local area.
How long have you been performing together?
Our band has been performing together since 2019, with experience playing at venues, festivals, weddings, and private events.
How do I book the band?

How much do you charge?
Pricing depends on event type, performance length, travel distance, equipment requirements, event date, and timing. Contact us for a custom quote.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes. A non-refundable deposit of 20% is required to confirm the booking.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash, check, Venmo, PayPal, and bank transfer. Final payment is typically due on or before the event date.
What is your cancellation policy?
Deposits are non-refundable. Cancellations can be rescheduled depending on availability.
How long do you perform?
Typical performances range from 1-4 hours depending on the event package selected.
How many breaks do you take?
For longer events, we usually take short breaks every 45-60 minutes.
Can you learn special songs?
Yes. We can usually learn special requests if given enough notice. Additional fees may apply for extensive custom song preparation.
Do you take song requests during the event?
Yes, when appropriate and if the songs fit our style and performance setup.
Do you provide background music during breaks?
Yes. We can play curated playlists during breaks at no additional cost.
Do you provide your own sound equipment?
Yes. We provide professional sound equipment suitable for most small to medium-sized venues.
Do you provide lighting?
Basic stage lighting is available upon request.
How much space do you need?
We generally require at least 8' x 10' for a small setup and 12' x 16' for the full band setup.
What power requirements do you have?
We require access to reliable grounded electrical outlets near the performance area.
How long does setup and breakdown take?
Setup typically takes 60-90 minutes. Breakdown usually takes 30-60 minutes.
Can you act as MC or make announcements?
Yes. We are happy to make basic announcements and introductions during events.
Do you work with event planners and venues?
Absolutely. We regularly coordinate with planners, DJs, photographers, and venue staff to help events run smoothly.
Do you have a stage plot or technical rider?
Yes. We can provide a stage plot and technical rider upon request.
